Startup Weekend is back in Geneva this June for a special Sustainable Revolution edition. This event is dedicated to ecology, ethic, social, circular and local economy in partnership with Impact Hub Geneva. You can come alone or with your friends; with or without an idea and participate to the creation of a new startup’s project.

This year, the Impact Hub Geneva's challenge is : Circular Economy : Recycling non-PET Plastic in Geneva

Geneva, and much of Switzerland, deals with non-PET plastic by incinerating it along with non-recyclable household waste to produce energy.

The change that needs to happen is to Refuse single use-plastic, Reduce our dependency on the material by shopping locally for fresh food that does not require plastic to prolong it’s life, and to Reuse what plastic we can until it has really reached the end of life.

After 15 years as an advertising project manager in New York, London and Paris. Neil Van Kerkhove, our member moved to Geneva with his family and was immediately inspired by the surrounding international organizations to shift his focus to social, environmental, and humanitarian work.

Joins us to hear what progress Neil has made with his pilot program at the Impact Hub Geneva, and to brainstorm ways to take the idea further.
