Swiss SMEs and the Circular Economy Part II: Where do we stand?

Opportunities of the circular economy for SMEs in Switzerland are discussed based on current research of the Bern University of Applied Sciences.

The circular economy brings exciting opportunities for Swiss SMEs. In order for these companies to implement these promising circular solutions, new hurdles must first be overcome. Based on a current research project of the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH, the current state of development of the Swiss circular economy will be highlighted and the catch-up potential will be looked at in more detail. Afterwards, two successful startups will present how they have implemented the idea of the circular economy in practice.

Many young entrepreneurs are currently discovering the possibilities of the circular economy for themselves: Successful examples in Switzerland, yes, they exist. But there are also some hurdles to overcome for new approaches. At this event, two founders will present their recipes for success in recognizing and exploiting the benefits of the circular economy. For example, ID Watch, a startup that manufactures watches according to circular economy principles. Also at the event are Bloom Biorenewables: the company has developed a sustainable alternative for petroleum. Tobias Stucki, a sustainability expert from the Bern University of Applied Sciences BFH will round off the discussion with research results from the Swiss market.

At the event Swiss SMEs and the Circular Economy - Part 2: Where do we stand? participants will be invited to discuss their own current challenges and perhaps even discover new opportunities for their own or other companies.
