Circle Launch - Food System Transformation (FST)

The increasing consumption of food and feed products has led to increased pressure on natural resources, endangering biodiversity and bringing human health at risk. It has been shown that the linear food system we are witnessing now is no longer suitable for the 21st century and that a new circular model is required.

The goal of the Food System Transformation Circle (FST Circle) is to explore the benefits of the transition to a more regenerative food system by bringing more circular examples to the public where food production have a positive (and regenerative) impact on the environment, food by-products are used more effectively and people have easier access to healthier and nutritious food.

The event offers a space to exchange current circular practices, challenges, solutions and knowledge.

The event is aimed at people who are interested in circular economy and sustainability: food companies/ industries/ retailers; local farmers (urban, regenerative, aquaponic farming); gastronomers/ suppliers/ food producers; environmental science students ( agriculture, agronomy and food science, biodiversity, sustainability and innovations, waste management etc.); sustainability and environmental lecturers, researchers ; food policy makers; zero waste initiatives/ organisations/ platforms; food and by-product waste solutions; engineers/ innovators, etc.
