Accelerate2030

Born out of Geneva, Accelerate2030 is the world’s leading program for scaling entrepreneurial solutions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program brings together impact-driven companies, corporates, UN agencies, impact finance institutions, international development organizations and other partners to scale the most promising innovations across the globe.

Since 2016, Accelerate2030 has supported nearly 500 entrepreneurs in 32 countries, providing them with access to skills and opportunities for collaboration and partnerships to scale their impact. In 2020, the program launched its 4th edition in 20 countries around the globe. In 5 pilot countries - China, Croatia, Colombia, Nigeria and Turkey - the program provided a specially curated scale-readiness program, integrating the “future-fit business” framework of the circular economy into the curriculum. This integration of the up-to-date world-class knowledge, based on a strong experience on the topic in Switzerland through the Circular Economy Transition Program (CET).

Scaling circular innovations

Nearly 80% of environmental impacts are determined during a product’s design stage, which is why Accelerate2030 supports entrepreneurs in early growth stage to embed circularity principles into the design of their solutions and business models.

We primarily focus on circular innovation in 4 socio-economic systems that are responsible for nearly 80% of nature loss and are ripe for transformation:

  • Food systems

  • Infrastructure and built environment

  • Health

  • Energy

Meet the entrepreneurs who are shaping the future of business

  • Sampangan, Indonesia

Sampangan is a waste to carbon tech company which sustainably processes and decomposes any kinds of solid waste (organic, inorganic, electronic, toxic, dry or humid). Utilizing a circular approach, it then converts the waste into organic outputs such as carbon, steam and others.

Upcycling agricultural waste to create cosmetic products, such as reef-safe papaya based sunscreen. Their circular approach reduces the amount of chemicals entering marine ecosystems and reduces CO2 emissions by reutilizing agricultural waste and avoiding plastic containers

Synthetic biology and advanced material company that creates home compostable, plastic-alternative biomaterials made from plant-based agricultural waste.

Working with pesticide companies to create a new range of products that are as effective as traditional ones already used by farmers -  but less toxic. This nanotechnology had been in development for 15 years, but it had been underutilized due to its high production costs. UNIBIO developed its own technique that allows the company to be 20 times more efficient, enabling its commercialization.

A leading SaaS company, providing the most comprehensive intelligent solution designed for the all categories of waste management across the globe. Evreka aims to reshape the waste management business by delivering end-to-end solutions and cutting-edge products, as well as guaranteeing operational excellence.

  • Biolive, Turkey

Biolive produces completely natural bioplastic granules that stem from olive seeds in order to overcome the problems and fulfil the deficiencies in bioplastic market. Using waste from olive oil companies, Biolive granules are biodegradable, compostable, recyclable, transparent and 90% more cost effective than existing bioplastics.

Testimonial

“Accelerate2030 was the most beneficial experience for our company. We were able to scale up our operations, strategy and impact thanks to A2030. When we began Accelerate2030, we were barely beginning to understand international business and how we wanted to scale the company. Now, we are an international company with its headquarters in Amsterdam, and operations in the Netherlands, UK and Costa Rica. Thanks to all the support at Accelerate2030 we were able to develop, improve and execute such a strategy.”
