Is it possible to be 100% green by using technology?
Does technology always have a positive impact on society and on businesses?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of using technology for circular economy businesses?
Join us on November 2 and be involved in an open digital TELL discussion with Digital Switzerland, Impact Hub Switzerland, Circular Economy Transitions, peers and start-ups.
During the digital event, we will explore the environmental impacts of digitalization, discussing to what extent it is an enabler to sustainable development and what needs to be considered when shaping a digital future.
Three startups in the field of digital traceability, waste reduction, and green IT will fuel the discussion with examples and practical solutions.
All participants will join the discussion within three lively breakout rooms, where moderators will facilitate interactions. We want to hear from you!
Additional information
Digital transformation is accelerating in many areas, and when associated with circular economy principles, it can become a catalyst for innovative and sustainable business models, especially in Switzerland - which has ideal conditions for the creation of circular digital innovations.
Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, Blockchain, and Big Data open up opportunities for the development of better-interconnected products, as well as new and innovative business models: for example, technology enables manufacturers to monitor, analyze, and optimize product performance during the use phase; limit environmental impacts; reduce raw material waste, reduce travel costs, and more.
Despite all of these advantages, care must be taken to ensure that the development of digital technologies does not come at the expense of other sustainable objectives like the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions due to the high volumes of electricity usage, reduction of the consumption of natural resources, improvement of job quality, ensuring an appropriate work-life balance etc..
